Lentils (parupu)-1 cup
- Tamarind-In the size of a
strawberry - Tomato-1
- Garlic-4 pieces
- Mustard seeds-1 tsp
- Pepper powder-3 tsp
- Red Chillies-2 in no.
- Salt to taste.
- oil-3 tsp.
- curry leaves.
- Coriander leaves for decoration
purpose.
1. Cook the lentils in water.
2. Soak the tamarind in water for 5 mins and extract the juice separately.
3.Mash the tomato in the extracted water from tamarind. Add more water as needed. Do not filter.
4.Now that the lentils are cooked finely, try to mash them with a ladle to the possible extent.
5.Add the lentils to the tomato & tamarind extract.
6.Heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Fry the red chillies. Then add the curry leaves finally.
Quickly empty these ingredients to the lentils mixed water(as in step 5).
7.To this add pepper and salt. Crush the garlic pieces slightly and add. bring the mixture to a boiling state. Decorate with coriander leaves finally. Rasam with a fantastic aroma is ready to be served.
