Eelak KURUVI !!!

Hello everyone.

I just want to put something across to everyone and ask you the readers your views ...

As you all may know... we are in a very critical point in our nation's fight for freedom ... but how many of us actually believe that we would get our goal. That we would achieve what we have been fighting for, for many years. We have given up lives of many youngsters and adults for what? one dream. The dream of a freedom TAMIL EELAM... So why is it that when i speak to someone. they give me a whole reason why we would not get our eelam and the fact that we would have to live in these foreign countries forever...

Is dat true? Do you believe that these countries are our home land now? Is this where we belong and our children and our grand children???

u tell me and shed some light in my eyes...

One dream- The dream of a freedom TAMIL EELAM...

Vanakkam Tharmi!

The negatives always easy to think and talk; further to "justify" and "satisfy" ourselves in order to live with our guilty convictions and/or very selfishness.

we are now living in a totally different world before like "colonized era", "WW1 era", "WW2 era", "post WW2 era" , post 1990....

these eras pave the way to develop the "international law"[?] and an intergovernmental organizations like UN which is believed to "control" the world order!

however, the history shows the world orders got failed like 'League of nations' because lots of reasons... but definitely before and after the WARS occur.

as the same will happen to UN [unfortunately?] very soon[ 20- 40 years] and then the world order completely change from as it is now... why is it going to change? please read this link just a very very small example for you...

http://www.tamilnation.org/intframe/us/080525blake.htm

but there are lots of conflicts and contradictions over to UN and its MASTERS mainly who occupies the security council permanently. they say we have the permanent ownership of this world. here is the problem starts for urging the next generation to create the next world order. no one can stop it but exactly when? may be 20- 40 years.

so you may ask why you say all this "rubbish" to me? well, if you go and look at the history of colonized countries became independent, Israel, Eritrea, East timor, Kurds within Iraq, Kosovo ....... which are telling the truth that those are emerging because they are backing by those masters[ even just one or two enough] who purely looking after their self interest.

okai, just look at our Eelam freedom?

it may happen within this current world order just because of our Tamil diaspora work with "world conscience" to defeat the other all forces.

but we have to keep our military strength all the way to prove and get our Eelam; by this we can only enjoy our rights until get our own destiny.

or otherwise we have to wait until the world order changes to get our independent state Eelam.

Eelavan - Next year Tamil Eelam!

Vanakkam Eelavan,

L’shana ha’ba-ah b’Yerushalayim." "Next year in Jerusalem." At Passover sedarim the world over, the Jewish people optimistically look forward to leaving their homes and celebrating next Passover in Jerusalem, fulfilling the ancient dream of being a free people in their own land.

Israelites left Israel as refugees under a very different world order. Very biblical era, that they were able to form the nation of Israel with whatever leftover Israeli Jews were left in Israel and the few million who have made it their home. But, without a situation like WW2 and the Holocaust, they might still be happy to be wherever they had been prospering since the time they left Israel.

Political histories have undergone a much momentous change in the last century. Even the Colonial rule in Sri Lanka or India is very small compared to the history of the Jewish Twenty five or even fifty years of liberation struggle of Tamil Eelam is still very young and we probably are not going to be tired.

The Chinese revolution took so many years and so many reversals before it defeated both Imperialist forces and dissident forces. The amount of sacrifice from the Chinese people must have been huge and Himalayan.

The history of many other nations who had to fight for their liberation like the Greeks against Turk rule and the ongoing division of Cyprus. The Karen and Kachins battling against the Burman forces of Myanmar. The isolated island of Bougainville fighting against Papua New Guinea or the Kurds in Turkey, Iran and Iraq. The Basque nation in Spain or the Welsh and Scottish nations in United Kingdom. The list is inexhaustible.

I agree with you that it is world order that determines the political divisions or economic orders, but the easiest way for Eelam to be attained is the desire of the Sinhalese people to agree to draw the borders and determine with-drawl of their troops from the occupation of Tamil Eelam.

The best example of such an historical occasion was the Ethiopian rebels and Eritrean peoples liberation front led coup against Mengitsu that paved way for Eritrea liberation.

If history or rather the people of Scotland and Wales have their way they will be able to declare independence from UK and it was the English, Labour Government of Tony Blair which had the courage 10 years ago to give that power to the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.

In one example it was a bloody change of rule wherein the Ethiopian people themselves felt they did not mind the independence of Eritrea and it is going to be the same for Scotland sans any blood letting (hopefully).

The Sri Lankan state which boasts of a very literate society might eventually have the Sinhalese supporting the liberation of Tamil Eelam. It is the lack of liberal minds amongst the Sinhalese and the lack of support for few such liberal Sinhalese from the Tamil side that has created a fascist and racist Sinhala populace and political groupings.

But, people change and politics change. I would bet my money on Tamil Eelam formation from the change of mind from the Sinhala electorate or militant radicals who can change the political history for Tamil Eelam.

As far as the world order is concerned, Sri Lanka was a nice place to go on holiday just cheaper than going to Seychelles or Maldives. Militarily or strategically Sri Lanka does not offer much to world order. India is probably the only power which wants to keep its neighbourhood under control and historically the Sri Lankans have been a perpetual tribute payers to Indian political dynasties, be they the Cholas,Mughals or the Vijayanagara empires.

Sinhala politicians in their thirst for power have been carving out the island to China, India and other powers hoping it will keep India on the backfoot and help them in their war against the Tamils, but this will have its downfall when the average Sinhalese realises that this is against their own economic interest they will fight against the Rajapaksas and Wickramasinghas.

Israel's enemies had to make friends with her in the later period of history though it was an imposed state in the ocean of Arab nationalism
as there was a need for it. It is the change of mind and heart amongst the Arabs that has established Israel as a legal state. India and even Sri Lanka today have recognised Israel as even Arab countries are in communication with it.

LTTE has a policy that except for the state of Sri Lanka there are no other enemies for Tamil Eelam. If that Sri Lankan state is overthrown by the Sinhala reformists with the help of LTTE than there will be two nations living in harmony and also grow up to be an economic powerhouse.

Militarily we need the Fighters to be ready to take on the Sri Lankan state, politically we need our civil society to be active in Eelam, Sri Lanka and abroad. But, culturally it is the role of the individual Tamils to bear in their mind who they are and why they have come as refugees? and what is the future of the people they left behind going to be? And what will their very own future be?

Even though the Diaspora is hardworking and supports the Eelam cause it is dysfuntional politically and culturally, as we are dispersed in many countries. But, like the Jews who had one political wish and made it a cultural proclamation year after year to be in Jerusalem, we have to have a "Next Year Tamil Eelam" dream alive.

hi

i do agree most of your article. i disagree that Sri Lanka is not important militarily. those who own trincomalee can rule soth asia. this is why chinese, pakistanis, british and american are interested.

you must be aware that the american and english military visted sri lanka immediately aftrer ptusnami to take over the new island which was going to develop from the occean. after disaster klike tghis, new islands are born in the past and those who put their flag owns those island. this is why they went there. fortunately new island did not come up but east of sri lanka gone down the sea by more than one meter and the other part which waas not affected gone up by 2 meter giving some lands

economically, oil resouces are in the area of mannar. this is why india is trying to rob the resources by supporting sri lanka

Hi

Tharmi,
you should understand that there are non participant, like me, in every freedom struggle and the non participant get beter position than than tha participant after freedon struggle completed and the war was won. I hope that i will not get anying after war is won.

I would like to go to Tamil Eelam to drink toddy under the palmyrah to enjoy my golden aim.

I believe that future generation will not go to India and ask for protection which was done by Kiladdu nai chelva and his company. They will fight for for what they want and what they want to achieve.

Ponnan did not go to india to beg and praba has shown what Tamils are capable of.
