ஒரு நாள் நான் முடிவு செய்தேன் இந்த வாழ்க்கையை துறந்துவிடுவது என்று... ஆம், எனது வேலை, எனது உறவுகள், என் இறையாண்மை அனைத்தையும் விட்டுவிடுவது என்று.

துறவிகள் போல வாழ்ந்துவிட வேண்டும் என்று முடிவெடுத்து காட்டிற்குச் சென்றேன். அப்போது...

கடைசியாக இறைவனிடம் ஒரு சில வார்த்தைகள் பேச விரும்பினேன்.

"கடவுளே, நான் என் வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்வதற்கு ஏதாவது ஒரு காரணம் கூறுங்கள்?"

கடவுளின் பதில் என்னை வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தியது...

"ஒரு முறை காட்டைச் சுற்றிப் பார். காடு முழுவதும் புதர் செடிகளும் நீண்டு ஓங்கி வளர்ந்துள்ள மூங்கில்களும் காணப்படுகின்றன அல்லவா?"

"ஆமாம்" என்று நான் பதிலளித்தேன்.

To all the Oru paper readers. I had an opportunity to interview Dance Lab- Dance stars 2008 winner’s choreographer Mrs Marshida Usman.

Oru Paper: Tell us something about Dance Lab and how does it differ from others?

Mrs Marshida: Dance Lab is a lab, unlike others where acids, chemicals are found, here new, raw, untamed fresh dancing talents are being discovered and groomed everyday. It is a place where future stars are fashioned. We excavate the undiscovered talents of children and youth whose energy is being wasted on our streets and guide them in right direction to live their dreams. We specialise in dance styles including Tamil Cinematic, Bollywood and Kollywood, Bhangra and Semi- classical to age group between 4yrs- 30yrs.

Oru Paper: How long have you been running Dance Lab for?

Mrs Marshida: Dance Lab was formed 2 years ago in London after the immense success of Little Lions Dance Club which was mainly coaching children under 15yrs. Due to the varied amount of interests expressed by other age groups especially youth and few successful workshops, led to the emergence of Dance Lab. The success of Dance Lab and Little Lions is mainly due to my expertise and experience as a teacher and choreographer in India for good few years.

Oru Paper: Do you hold sessions?

Mrs Marshida: Dance Lab runs weekly sessions on Sundays at East Ham Leisure Centre, E6. 2pm- 4pm for age group 13-30 yrs and 4pm-5pm for children aged 4-13yrs. We have vibrant dancers from all over London and even coming from Luton. We open our doors to all communities.

Oru Paper: Many know Dance Lab is the winners of the great show Dance Stars 2008. Tell us about your experience.

Sri Lankan case is a classic ‘how to’ guide book on committing the worst human rights crimes and still escape criminality. All the invaluable work on SL’s human rights crimes done by UNHRC and other mandated Human rights groups were brought to naught (even a preliminary investigation was killed off thanks to Delhi) at the May Council meeting with Delhi exploiting the Council’s weakness as presently constituted. Delhi's involvement in the SL genocide explains its intense interest in seeking such an outcome.

இன்றுள்ள நமது சமுதாயம் இரண்டு வர்க்கங்களைக் கொண்டது. அவை, பொருளும் வசதியும் படைத்தவர்கள் சமுதாயம். அடுத்தவர்கள் பொருளும் வசதியுமற்ற சமுதாயம். இந்த சமுதாயப்பிரிவு நீண்ட நெடுங்காலமாக இருந்து வருகிறது.

பொருள் படைத்த வர்க்கத்தரிடம், எல்லா வசதிகளும் இருக்கின்றன; ஆகையால் அவர்கள் கல்வி, அறிவு, கலைகள் முதலியவற்றிலும் சிறந்து விளங்குகின்றனர். பொருள் வசதி இல்லாவிட்டாலும் கல்வி, அறிவு, கலை, முதலியவற்றிலே சிறந்தவர்கள் பொருள் படைத்த வர்க்கத்தாரை ஓட்டியே வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர்; வாழ்ந்தும் வருகின்றனர்.

தன் மனத்தை அடக்க முடிந்தவனால் மற்ற எல்லா மனங்களையும் கட்டாயமாக அடக்க முடியும். இதனாலேயே தூய்மையும் ஒழுக்கமும் எப்போதும் மதத்தின் நோக்கமாக வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. தூய்மையும் ஒழுக்கமும் வாய்ந்தவன் தன்னை அடக்கி ஆள்கிறான். எல்லா மனங்களும் ஒரே தன்மையுடையவை. ஒரே பெரிய மனத்தின் பகுதிகள். களிமண் கட்டி ஒன்றை அறிந்தவன், பிரபஞ்சத்திலுள்ள களிமண் அனைத்தையும் அறிந்தவன் ஆகிறான். தன் மனத்தை அறிந்து அடக்குபவன் ஒவ்வொரு மனத்தையும் பற்றிய ரகசியத்தை அறிகிறான். ஒவ்வொரு மனத்தையும் அடக்க வல்லவன் ஆகிறான்

நாம் பிறந்த மண்ணிலே ,
நாள்தோறும் குண்டு மழை
போதாதென்று மழை வெள்ளம்
அழுது ஓடிய கண்ணீர் வெள்ளம் ,
தசை பிளந்து ரத்த வெள்ளம் ,
இத்தனைக்கும் பயந்த சன வெள்ளம்
எங்கு ,ஓடி அடைக்கலம் தேடும்
இவை எல்லாம் நம் சனத்தை

Welcome to all of you teenagers who are reading my article this issue and even those few adults who are just eager to know what I am writing about this issue. As many of you know, there has not been a Teen section in Oru Paper for the past two issues as not a lot of you have considered to write for the paper. This time I have taken the time to write a few lines to get my views across to a wider audience. As many of you may know I have the tendency to write exactly as I may believe so if any of my writing offends you as readers I apologise for it in advance.
This issue I have decided to talk about MR.BARAK OBAMA. I remember the night of the election. My dad wanted find the election result he we up as early as 5:30am to find out the result of the election but when I asked him why he was so eager to find out the election result of a different country’s result he stated “if Obama wins that means we are one step closer to getting our part of our Eelam and getting a peaceful and rightful life”. And until this day I do not fully understand how that is possible. Yes we have got our first black president of America and a great man he is but I am simply failing to see the connection. Once upon a time Black people were put down by the white people and treated unfairly just as my people(tamils) in Sri Lanka are being treated now but if the black people get their freedom don’t you think it’s time my people also get their freedom.
As a young student living in a foreign country and looking down at the people who are living in my home land I cry with fear of lives being lost unfairly and in mass amounts. I fear that in a few years time there will not be a single Tamil alive in Sri Lanka after the Governments regime.

லண்டன்ல இருந்து விடுமுறைக்கு வந்திருந்த ஒரு குடும்பம் எங்கட வீட்டுக்கு விருந்துக்கு வந்திருந்தார்கள்.எங்கட அப்பாவும் அவேன்ர அப்பாவும் அவை தியேட்டருக்குள்ள போகாமலே படம் பார்த்தது பஸ்ல தொங்கிக்கொண்டு றோட்டால போன பொலிஸ்ட தொப்பி கழட்டி முதல் தடவையா பொலிஸிட்ட அடி வாங்கினது தாத்தா நட்ட கச்சான்களை களவாப் பிடுங்கி கொண்டு போய் வித்துப்போட்டு பிளாவில கள்ளடிச்சது என்டு பழைய கதையள் கதைச்சுக்கொண்டிருந்தினம்.

‘’Dance Stars 2008’’ is Europe’s biggest dance competition, which took place on 6th September in Croydon, in Fairfield Hall, in the presence of the actresses Suganya, and Uma Riaz, as well as Sethu. The winners of ‘’Dance Stars 2008’’ are Dance Lab!!!

Greetings to all the Oru paper readers. In this life, there are many different types of relationships. The first ever relationship we have is with our mother. It is the first contact we all have. Everywhere, the first thing the doctors do is they place us in our mother’s hands. This bond that gets created between us and our mothers must never get destroyed throughout our life. This bond must be kept special and unbreakable by anyone. The second contact we get is our father’s bond. This is also, an important one for our success in life. Both our parents’ bonds are crucial for each and every one of us. In our life, if we fail to love our parents, and respect them too, we will definitely fail in everything we do. There’s no point to expect victory in things we do, but failure will keep on appearing. No matter what happens between us and our parents, we must never let go off them, and never expect them to bow their heads in front of us. Whether they are wrong or right, it doesn’t matter, they are older than us, and they have done everything for us since we are young. For example, I definitely need to praise all the mothers out there who took the pain of carrying us throughout till birth, without letting anything hurt us. We must appreciate the favours that our parents have done for us. Once again I repeat, it might be too late one day, if you don’t realise right now.
Then its sister and brother relationships that we get and these are very significant towards the foundation of the family. It is so essential that we all have strong relationships whether it’s our mother or sister. A family needs to stand together through good and bad. Then even though a storm hits you, your family will never fall apart.
A family got to be strong together, no matter what comes in the way, we must learn to forgive and forget. But if we keep things in mind, and try to take revenge, then certainly happiness will never be there in that family.

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. I really think it’s nice to have special days for mother’s day and father’s day, it makes the day extra unique. However, every day is special and exceptional.
I really thank god for giving us the father we all have, as all our fathers are unique and the best father we could ever have, in their own different way.
Sometimes it is hard to notice, but just step back, and you will realise the amount of hard work our fathers do, to give us better lives. Nevertheless, Father’s day should not be the only day you shower love over your father, you should do it every day. Show your parents how much you love them now. Like I have mentioned before, their aim is us, just us. They don’t expect you to give them money, or things, all they ask for is your love, respect and care. That’s easy right, there’s no hard work involved or effort, and it’s something that’s suppose to come deep from our heart.
I know these are things we all know, but sometimes we need to be reminded again and again, trust me it’s worth it, when being reminded about certain things. We lead such happy, easy lives, as our parents look after us. But a time will come when we will have to look after our parents. To be honest, I don’t think there will be anything equal to what our parents have done to us, compared to what we’ll do for them. I really think that all the fathers out there are fabulous. It’s our duty to thank them, and to show our respect towards them. I would say in one way fathers struggle more than mothers, only in the aspect, where they work day and night for their family. On the other hand, mothers work hard too by managing, and leading the whole family.
